Daytime Learning @ Sprouts 2020/21 School Year

JK/SK to Grade 6

All of the Daytime Learning Classes will follow Toronto Public Health Guidelines;

daily screening of all staff and children
increased hand washing and hand sanitizing
small, consistent groups (see below for sizes per grade)
additional cleaning throughout the day
physical distancing whenever possible
lots of outdoor time
all staff wearing masks and/or face shields
children Grade 3+ at Makerspace will be required to wear shields or masks indoors. Children in grades JK-2 are encouraged to wear shields or masks indoors but are not required to.
Staggered Curbside drop off/pick up at both locations.

Each class will have a separate classrooms, with physically distant learning space for each child. Groups will not mix at any time.

All classes (except for JK/SK) will follow the individual remote learning plan provided to each child by the TDSB. Ideally this will make the transition back to their home school seamless when the time comes.

If you would like your child to stay on for our after school program a 15% discount will be applied on after school costs, and children in the same daytime class will be cohorted together.

JK/SK Class

Our JK/SK class will be held at Sprouts - 183 Carlaw, and will be taught by a Registered Early Childhood Education and ECA.

runs Monday to Friday 9am - 2:15pm.
snacks, lunch and water bottle must be sent with your child.
only full-time enrollment is offered.
outdoor learning every day (weather permitting)
the class group will be no more than 5 children.

Children are naturally motivated to play. A play-based program builds on this motivation, using play as a context for learning. In this context, children can explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful ways.

A play-based approach involves both child-initiated and teacher-supported learning. The teacher encourages children’s learning and inquiry through interactions that aim to stretch their thinking to higher levels.

For example, while children are playing with blocks, a teacher can pose questions that encourage problem solving, prediction and hypothesising. The teacher can also bring the child’s awareness towards mathematics, science and literacy concepts, allowing them to engage with such concepts through hands-on learning.

Monthly Cost : $1500 + tax, 10% sibling discount

Grade 1/2 Class

Our Grade 1/2 class will be held at Sprouts - 183 Carlaw, and will be facilitated by Ontario Certified Primary Teacher, and by supported by our other Sprouts staff.

nut free snacks, lunch and water bottle must be sent with your child.
your child must bring their own wifi enabled device and headset.
only full-time enrollment is offered.
outdoor learning every day (weather permitting)
each class group will be no more than 8 children.
small group and individual learning enrichment each day

Monthly Cost : $1500 + tax, 10% sibling discount

Grade 3/4 Class

Our Grade 3/4 class will be held at Maker Space- 388 Carlaw Ave Unit 101A, and will be led by an Ontario Certified Teacher, and supported by our Maker Space Staff.
